WORLD ASSOCIATION for SEXUAL HEALTH (WAS) AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE & INNOVATION IN SEXUALITY EDUCATION

WAS invites submissions from educators and organizations to be considered for this important award. In recognition of the special contribution sexuality educators make to the overall field of sexology, this award is made every two years by the World Association for Sexual Health, at its World Congress. The two categories for the award and the criteria for evaluation of submissions are set out below.

Categories
A. Non-Government Organizations or Individuals
B. Government Sponsored Programmes
The criteria:
NGO or Individual Category:
• Relevance of programme to target group(s) and social context
• Conceptual framework
• Innovative concepts
• Relevance of methodology and materials used
• Delivery mode(s) relevant to target groups
• Evidence of evaluation and results
• What have been the obstacles, difficulties that the programme/individual has had to overcome and how (e.g. funding, political obstacles)

When applying please send as much relevant information as possible as well as materials used.
Government Sponsored Programmes
• Please state origin of the initiative (e.g. did it come from government or through a lobby to influence Government)
• Conceptual framework
• Relevance of programme to target group(s) and social context.
• Relevance of methodology and materials used
• Innovative concepts
• Delivery mode(s) relevant to target groups
• Innovative delivery
• Evidence of evaluation and results
• What have been the obstacles, difficulties that the programme/individual has had to overcome and how (e.g. funding, political obstacles

The deadline for receiving submissions is January 31st, 2007.
Winners will be announced on March 15th and awards will be given at the Opening Ceremony of the
XVIII World Congress of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) in Sydney, Australia, April15- 19
